THURSDAY, 15TH MARCH 2012 – A breakfast Seminar jointly organized and facilitated by iPerintis and SumTotal was held at the Crowne Plaza Mutiara Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

This breakfast seminar brought together four distinguished guest speakers from independent groups who shared their vast knowledge and experiences on Human Resource (HR), Talent Development and how integrated automation in HR systems play critical roles in the evolving nature of HR these days.

The seminar kicked-off with a short introduction by Mr Rishi Rana, General Manager – APAC of SumTotal Systems followed by the panelist presentation.

The first presenter was En Ramlan Ahmad, GM, HR & Administration, iPerintis who touched on what HR is actually about and what is being perceived by most people in general through his presentation titled "Talent Management/Development and the need for HRIS". He reiterated that automation through HRIS is becoming increasingly important where it plays a critical role to effectively do talent management and development activities.

In the second presentation, Mr. David Osborne, EVP, Global Services, SumTotal Systems showcased what SumTotal Systems was about and highlighted that SumTotal Systems was the "the only platform that provides businesses with a single, comprehensive view of their human capital investment".

Thereafter, Dr. Aini Ibrahim, Learning Architect, Adult and Continuing Professional Education took the stage and talked about her very passionate nature for adult and continuing learning; her engaging presentation captured the attention of the audience. She advocated a simple but strong principle when she said "The smallest building block of learning is in how learners, content, and the learners' environment interact in a learning event".

The last speaker was Mr. Dion Groeneweg, Chief Executive Officer, CAPE Group who spoke on ways "to ensure human capital provides value, companies need to optimize their people". He also mentioned "as business strategy changes, so must human capital management strategy".

During the coffee break, participants were invited to a 15-minute power-break (breakfast) while given the opportunity to mingle and network with each other.

After the short break, a moderated question and answer session was opened to the floor with Mr Rishi as the moderator. This was where he posed related questions to further "pick" the mind of the panelists. The event finally adjourned at 11:30am with the presentation of appreciation crystal plaques by En Izwan Ibrahim, GM, BDCM, iPerintis to the guest speakers and moderator.
